The opportunity

As sustainability becomes increasingly important for customers, investors, regulators and communities, so does the demand for information about Emirates NBD’s environment, social and governance (ESG) strategy, environmental commitments, disclosures, performance and initiatives.

Finding ESG-related information often meant navigating lengthy sustainability reports, disclosures and website content spread across multiple sources. At the same time, many enquiries covered similar topics and required manual responses from ESG specialists, making it difficult to provide timely support across different geographies and time zones.

We wanted to make sustainability information easier to access, enabling stakeholders to find answers quickly, while allowing our ESG specialists to dedicate more time to advancing Emirates NBD’s sustainability ambitions.

Our approach

The Emirates NBD ESG Sustainability Chatbot is a secure, AI-powered assistant available through the Sustainability section of the Emirates NBD website. Users can ask sustainability-related questions in natural language and instantly receive relevant information when they need it.

Built using enterprise-grade cloud technologies and Emirates NBD’s responsible AI principles, the chatbot combines intelligent search with conversational AI to draws its responses from trusted ESG knowledge sources, ESG-related reports and disclosures. It transforms complex information into simple, consistent intuitive answers, while out-of-scope questions are redirected appropriately.
