A Balance Transfer (BT) allows you to transfer outstanding balances from another bank’s credit card to your Emirates NBD Credit Card, converting them into an easy installment plan with lower interest rates.

If you don’t have an Emirates NBD Credit Card, you can apply for one now and then transfer your balance from another bank to us.

Who can apply for a Balance Transfer?

All primary Emirates NBD Credit Cardholders can apply for Balance Transfers.

Anyone who doesn’t have an Emirates NBD Credit Card, can apply for one and then ask for a Balance Transfer.

What is the maximum amount I can transfer to Emirates NBD under a Balance Transfer?

You can transfer up to 90% of your available credit limit, subject to eligibility and the available balance on your card.

You can choose to repay installments over 12, 18, 24, 36 or 48 months.

Is there a minimum amount to apply for a Balance Transfer?

Yes, you need to transfer a minimum of AED 1,000 for a Balance Transfer.

What happens if I fail to make payments on my Balance Transfer?

If you fail to make payments, your Balance Transfer plan will be foreclosed, and the entire outstanding balance including any foreclosure fees will be due immediately, along with regular finance charges.

Can I change my existing Balance Transfer plan?

No, but you can foreclose your plan by paying a foreclosure fee of 1% of the principal outstanding plus 5% VAT, then rebook the remaining balance into a new plan you wish to select.

What happens if I prepay what I owe for my Balance Transfer?

If you prepay intending to cancel the plan, you will need to contact our call center at 600 54 0000 (UAE) or +971 600 54 0000, internationally.

The prepayment will be adjusted towards your outstanding balance and a foreclosure fee of 1% of the principal outstanding plus 5% VAT will apply.

What happens if I close my Credit Card while I have a Balance Transfer plan?

Active Balance Transfer plans must be foreclosed first and then your credit card cancellation request can be processed. Foreclosure fees will apply.
