How long will it take to process my Balance Conversion request?

Your request will be processed instantly and will be reflected on your next Credit Card statement.

How long do I have to repay the amount I convert to a Balance Conversion plan?

You can choose to pay back over 12, 18, 24, 36, or 48 months.

Is there a minimum transaction amount to apply for a Balance Conversion plan?

Yes, you need to have a minimum retail outstanding balance of AED 1,000 to apply for a Balance Conversion plan on your Credit Card.

What happens if I fail to repay an installment on a Balance Conversion plan?

If you fail to make payments, your Balance Conversion plan will automatically be foreclosed. The full outstanding balance will be due immediately, and regular finance charges will apply to the remaining amount.

Can I change the tenure on an existing Balance Conversion plan?

No, but you can foreclose your plan by paying a foreclosure fee of 1% of the principal outstanding plus 5% VAT, then rebook the remaining balance into a new plan you wish to select.

What are the benefits of Balance Conversion on my Credit Card?

With a Balance Conversion plan, you can repay your credit card outstanding balance comfortably in equal monthly installments at a reducing interest rate. You have the flexibility to repay over 12 to 48 months.

What is the interest rate for a Balance Conversion plan?

Balance Conversion interest is a reducing monthly interest rate determined by Emirates NBD and shall be charged on the converted amount. The interest rates are subject to changes on periodic basis and is also based on Card usage and overall performance.

Can supplementary cardholders apply for Balance Conversion?

This facility is available for transactions done on both Primary and Supplementary Cards. However, only Primary Cardholders can raise a balance conversion request.

What happens to the Balance Conversion plan if I prepay what I owe?

Even if you prepay the full amount, your plan will remain active until you request cancellation by calling us on 600 54 0000 (UAE) or +971 600 54 0000 internationally. Once you call and cancel, a foreclosure fee of 1% of the principal outstanding and 5% VAT, will apply.

What happens if I close my Credit Card while I have a Balance Conversion plan?

Active Balance Conversion plans must be foreclosed first and then your credit card cancellation request can be processed. Foreclosure fees will apply.

Do I earn or lose reward points on my Card when converting transactions to Balance Conversion?

No, you won’t lose any reward points on transactions that are converted to a Balance Conversion plan.
