Update your residency status

Are you leaving the UAE?

If you are leaving the UAE, you should change your residency status with the bank from resident to non-resident. This will help us tailor our services, support and communications to you better.

Based on your relationship with Emirates NBD, you would be required to submit the following documents:

  • If you only have a Savings Account:
    • FATCA/CRS form
    • Self-attested Passport copy
  • If you have a Current Account (will be converted to a Savings Account):
    • FATCA/CRS form
    • Self-attested Passport copy
    • Conversion of accounts form
    • Key Fact Statement form
  • If you have both a Current and Savings account (Current Account will be closed and the Savings Account will remain open):
    • FATCA/CRS form
    • Self-attested Passport copy
    • Closure request form

You can change your residency status easily in one of these ways below:

 

Email

Email Requests@EmiratesNBD.com from your registered email address with the subject: Residency status Update

  • In the email, tell us your address in your new country of residence
  • Attach the above required documents

Once we’ve received the required documents, your request will be processed within 2 working days

 

Visit a branch

Come to your nearest branch and we’ll be happy to help. Bring your passport and proof of visa cancellation.

Once we’ve received the required documents, your request will be processed within 1 working day.
