Transfer your credit card debt from another bank to Emirates NBD

Our Balance Transfer facility allows you to transfer your credit card debt from any other bank in the UAE to your Emirates NBD Credit Card and pay it back in easy installments at a lower interest rate. All Emirates NBD primary credit cardholders can apply. If you don’t already have an Emirates NBD Credit Card, you can apply for one now and then transfer your balance to us.

What's more, you can choose to repay your Balance Transfer amount in 12, 18, 24, 36, or 48 easy monthly installments.


  • A minimum transfer of AED 1,000 applies
  • The Balance Transfer should not be more than 90% of your credit limit
  • One Balance Transfer is allowed per card at any given time
  • Corporate, forex, prepaid and WebShopper cards are not eligible
  • Balance transfers from other Emirates NBD group companies are not allowed

  • Balance Transfer with interest: Choose to pay interest and avoid a processing fee.
  • Balance Transfer without interest: If you prefer not to pay interest, you can pay a one-time processing fee instead.

What's next?

Once you apply via SMS or Phone Banking, we’ll get in touch with you within 2 working days after which it will take 5 to 6 working days for your request to be processed.

Once the request is processed, the outstanding balance will be added to your Emirates NBD Credit Card and you can pay it back in easy instalments.

Emirates NBD will issue you a cheque for the Balance Transfer amount credited to the other bank’s credit card number. The cheque will be delivered to you by Empost within 5 to 6 working days. You’ll be contacted on your registered mobile number to schedule the delivery.

Once you receive the cheque, you can hand it over to the other bank.

Cancel your Balance Transfer

You can cancel the plan at any time but please note, a foreclosure fee will apply.

Fees and charges

A processing fee based on a percentage of your loan amount is applied if you opt for a Balance Transfer without interest.

There is no processing fee for a Balance Transfer with interest plan, but a nominal interest rate applies based on your credit card history and usage. The interest rate is subject to change at any time.

If you choose to cancel your Balance Transfer plan, a foreclosure fee of 1% of your loan principal outstanding amount + 5% VAT will be applicable.

No, you don’t earn miles or reward points on a Balance Transfer amount.

You can choose to repay your Balance Transfer installments in 12, 18, 24, 36, or 48 months.

Emirates NBD will issue a cheque credited to the other bank’s credit card number. You can then hand this over to the other bank.

If you fail to pay your installments for two consecutive months, your plan will be foreclosed. Your entire outstanding Balance Transfer amount will immediately be due for payment in full. Any remaining outstanding balance will attract our regular finance charges. For more details, have a look at our Schedule of Credit Card Fees and Charges.

When your Credit Card cancellation is processed, all active plans on the card will automatically be closed. Any fees applicable and the remaining outstanding balance will be due for payment in full.

Even if you pre-pay the entire amount, your Balance Transfer Plan will remain active and you will continue to pay interest towards the plan. If you want to cancel the plan, you must put in a cancellation request.

Yes, you can make a Balance Transfer to your Emirates NBD Credit Card even if it is not activated, however, please keep in mind that interest charges and installments will be billed every month and charged.
