Receiving your cheque book

Once your request is accepted, you’ll receive your cheque book in 3 to 5 working days

If your request for a new cheque book has been accepted, you should receive it within 3 to 5 working days.

Our courier service will hand your cheque book to you in person, they are not authorised to give it to anyone else, so please be available when they call. We don’t deliver internationally.

Delivery details

  • Emirates NBD partners with JMBR and Aramex courier services for the delivery of cheque books
  • JMBR Couriers will deliver cheque books for all the customer segments except VIP and Private Banking (PB) customers
  • We’ll send you an airway bill number to track your delivery
  • The courier service will contact you on your registered mobile number to schedule delivery

Documents needed

You must show a valid Emirates ID to receive your cheque book. If you don’t have one yet, you’ll need your passport along with the Emirates ID application.

Reschedule delivery

You can reschedule delivery of your cheque book within 39 days of the original delivery date. Please contact the courier service directly.

The courier service will return your cheque book to Emirates NBD after 39 days. The bank will destroy the returned cheque book and you will then need to apply for a new one.

 

No, you need to submit a request for a new cheque book, and you’ll receive it within 3 to 5 working days. So it’s best to apply for a new cheque book when you still have a couple of leaves left in the old one.

Our cheques have a QR code and an MICR code-line to prevent checks from being reproduced by fraudsters. If you don’t specify a recipient on the cheque, or if you write a cheque to ‘cash or bearer’, there’s always the risk of the cheque falling into someone else's hands and they can then cash it.

If you suspect a cheque has been lost or stolen, first submit a police report and then visit one of our branches with the report to place a stop payment on any cheques that are not yet presented. Additional documents may be required at the bank's discretion.
