Emirates NBD will never ask you for your card or bank details, PIN, CVV, OTP and other personal information over the phone, via SMS or email. Know the signs of fraud and protect your information at all times.
"Pishing” for your information through fraudulent emails purportedly from a trusted source asking you to supply or confirm account information, log-in IDs or passwords.
"Short Message Service", similar to phishing except using text messages sent to your cellphone.
"Voice phishing”, where live or automated callers direct you to call your bank or credit card issuer under the pretext of clearing up a problem and asking for your personal or account information.
Review your bank details periodically for any transactions that are not initiated by you.
When shopping on online shopping sites or through your mobile device, check to be sure the sites are secure by looking for web addresses with “https” in the address.
Use updated anti-virus software and firewall software .
Communicate information such as credit card numbers or account information only via a secure website or IVR.
Ensure that your browser is up to date and security patches applied.
If you reveal your bank account details mistakenly, report the theft of this information to the bank immediately.
Always TYPE the bank's address (www.emiratesnbd.com) in your browser URL field to access and login to your account, rather than clicking through a hyperlink.
Shop with established businesses that you can contact easily if there’s an issue.
Choose effective passwords that use both letters and numbers.
Never click on hyperlinks within emails; instead, verify the URL independently.
Don't share personal info unless you absolutely have to and you know how it will be used.
Never respond to offers of money from abroad.
Never respond to/make remittances/participate in schemes or offers from unknown entities.
Do not reply to emails or SMS claiming that the recipient has won a substantial sum of money in an online lottery or promotion.
Avoid filling out forms in email messages that ask for personal financial information.
Don't click or forward links in an email, instant message, or chat from unknown senders or if you suspect the authenticity of the message.
Never share confidential details like Card number, Card expiry date, CVV, OTP, with anyone when you receive any unsolicited calls, SMS, IVR or email seeking for card activation or upgrade, reward point redemption. This could lead to fraud as Emirates NBD will never ask for these details.
Never share your passwords and never keep them near your card.
