Emirates NBD, a leading bank in the region, announced today, the launch of the region's first Instagram exhibition and competition, as part of its activities to celebrate the 41st National Day in the UAE.

Dubai, November 29, 2012: Emirates NBD, a leading bank in the region, announced today, the launch of the region’s first Instagram exhibition and competition, as part of its activities to celebrate the 41st National Day in the UAE.

Uniquely powered by social media, the competition is open to all instagram users who can submit original photos depicting the festive spirit in the UAE. Entries can be submitted on Twitter or Instagram using Hashtag: #ENBDNationalDay, from now until December 8, 2012.

Forty one entries, celebrating 41 years of the UAE, will be selected for participation in a two-week exhibition, beginning December 16, 2012, at the Emirates NBD headquarters, in Deira. The competition will be evaluated by a panel, which includes judges selected by Fujifilm Middle East and an Emirates NBD representative, and the top three winners will be awarded cutting-edge Fujifilm cameras.

"Showcasing the festive spirit in the country through social media platforms, this exhibition is truly representative of the youthful population of the UAE, that is both tech-savvy, while at the same time retaining its deep-rooted culture and tradition."

A free photo-sharing program and social network launched in October 2010, Instagram enables users to take a photo, apply a digital filter to it, and share with other Instagram users as well as on a variety of social networking services. Distributed via the iTunes App Store and Google Play, Instagram is supported on iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch and Android camera phones 2.2 (Froyo) or higher, and currently has over 100 million registered users.
