Emirates NBD Group hosts Employee Wellness Fair across the UAE

Bank partners with health and wellness institutions to offer over 10,000 employees medical checks and awareness workshops

Dubai, 8 September, 2016: Emirates NBD Group, a leading financial institution in the region, held its inaugural Employee Wellness Fair for thousands of employees across the United Arab Emirates.

With over 33 partners ranging from hospital and clinics to gym and yoga centers, Emirates NBD Group hosted various activities and knowledge sharing workshops across its premises including its offices in Deira, Meydan and Barsha and at its main banking branches in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi. The activities were also held at the Group’s subsidiaries including Tanfeeth and Emirates Islamic.

Commenting on the initiative, Husam Al Sayed, Group Chief Human Resource Officer at Emirates NBD said: “Our people are our biggest strength and we believe that a happy and healthy workforce results in better productivity and improved staff loyalty. As part of our aim to be an employer of choice, we hope to continue to strengthen our employee welfare programmes so our staff can benefit from a balanced and healthy lifestyle.”

Employees benefitted from awareness workshops on topics such as stress management, diabetes, healthy eating habits, obesity and weight loss and the risks of smoking conducted by experienced doctors from MAF City Centre Clinic, iCARE, International Modern Hospital, Aster Clinic, RAK Diabetes Centre, Medeor 24x7 Hospital, NMC Healthcare and Lifeline Hospital. Activities included live cooking sessions by Kcal educate employees on healthy cooking. To promote active living, the Group partnered with leading fitness centres such as Fitness First, Gold’s Gym, Fit Republik, Gym 24, Motion Ladies Fitness Centre as well as Bharat Thakur Artistic Yoga, Rhythm Yoga and Core Group.

Emirates NBD’s employee wellness strategy focuses on four pillars: increase employee awareness on health and wellness; promote active living; encourage healthy eating; and offer health and wellness deals through partners. The Employee Wellness Fair continues the Group’s welfare initiatives including the 2015 ‘Know your numbers’ campaign, which informed employees on their most important health statistics, following a full medical screening.
