Using Smart Pass

Authorise your Online and Mobile Banking transaction instantly using Smart Pass

No more SMS codes with Smart Pass

Once you’ve activated Smart Pass you’ll no longer need to use SMS authorisation codes for your Online and Mobile Banking. You can authorise all your digital banking transactions with your Smart Pass PIN, token or push notification.

Smart Pass PIN

A Smart Pass PIN is a 4-digit number you set while activating Smart Pass. Use this to authorise Mobile Banking transactions on the same device that has Smart Pass activated on it. You can also use Smart Pass Touch or Face ID enabled on your device to authorise the transactions.

Smart Pass push notifications

For Online Banking transactions, you’ll receive push notifications to the device your Smart Pass is activated on. To authorise the transactions, just swipe the notification, enter your Smart Pass PIN, review your transaction details, and click Approve & Done.

Smart Pass tokens

Smart Pass tokens are for authorising Online or Mobile Banking transactions on devices that don’t have Smart Pass activated on them.

Smart Pass tokens are easy to generate:

  • Launch the Emirates NBD Mobile App on the device that your Smart Pass is activated on
  • Click on the Smart Pass icon and enter your Smart Pass PIN
  • Click Show Token

The token is only valid for 60 seconds after which a new one is auto-generated.
