Open a Minor Account

An Emirates NBD Minor Account can be opened for a child under the age of 18

Encourage your children below the age of 18 to manage their savings and spending money by opening a Minor Account for them.

To open a Minor Account, the child’s guardian must visit one of our branches with these documents:

  • the guardian’s Emirates ID or passport
  • the minor’s Emirates ID or passport
  • a court order if the father or grandfather is not the guardian

The account will be opened immediately and a debit card will be issued in the name of the guardian or minor, as you desire.

 

Fees and charges

There are no fees to open an Emirates NBD Minor Account.

Yes, you can open an EarlySaver Account which is a savings account under your own banking profile. This account offers attractive interest rates and can be linked to a top-up deposit. The account can be instantly opened under the name of the child and you can have a supplementary debit card issued to the child as well.

Individuals, ages 18 and above, can convert their Minor Account to a standard individual account by visiting the nearest Emirates NBD branch along with their passport or Emirates ID for identification.

There is no minimum age requirement to open a minor account.
There is no minimum balance or deposit required to open a minor account.
