Emirates NBD (ENBD), the Middle Easts biggest bank by assets, was formed in October 2007 following merger of Emirates Bank and National Bank of Dubai. The group has a presence in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Kingdom and Jersey (Channel Islands), and representative offices in India, Iran and Singapore. At 30th June 2008 total assets were AED 286 billion, giving it a market share of 20.5%.

Emirates NBD is the leading retail banking franchise in the UAE, with 115 branches and over 486 ATMs spread across the UAE. The Group is also a major player in the corporate banking arena, with a combined market share at the end of 2007 of a fifth of corporate loans. With a fast growing Islamic banking affiliated entities, strong investment and private banking services and a leadership in the field of asset management products, Emirates NBD is well positioned to grow and deliver outstanding value to its shareholders, customers, and employees.

Emirates NBD is the first banking group in the region to establish a dedicated community services unit with a mission to further the role of the banking giant in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility and Community Services. The group is a passionate supporter of local charities, education initiatives, regional culture, the environment and sport.

The group plays a leading role in the development of Dubai as a regional financial centre, in line with HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai's 2015 Strategic Plan.

Emirates NBD has won various prominent banking awards. In 2007 the group was awarded UAE Bank of the Year for 2007 by The Banker Magazine. Also, Best Bank in the UAE and Best Trade Finance Provider Awards for the Year 2007 by Global Finance Magazine.
